Farm History
The Shields family, parents Ken and May, children Helen and Bill moved to the farm in Bilpin in August 1955 from Beecroft. Ken my father had been brought up on an orchard in Epping.
The farm itself had been producing fruit from the early 1900’s with crops of passionfruit, oranges, lemons and remnants of a very old apple orchard as well as a recently planted section of apples. The property in1955 had a modern home and as well a three roomed wooden slab dwelling and shed.
